This fine title page is from part two of Jansson's magnificent atlas that covered Germaniae Inferioris or the northerly provinces of the Netherlands. Seventeen of their armorial shields are depicted at the top held aloft by two fierce lions and a king and queen flank the title. The Latin title and imprint are pasted onto the engraved architectural framework, as was customary with title pages.
