"Barnes' Complete Geography", Monteith, James

A complete and very nice example of this school geography that features an inscription by the author on inside free end paper: "To my long esteemed friend H. L. Wood. With kind regards of the Author. New York Oct. 1st 1886. James Monteith." Title page, preface, contents, maps, engravings and text, index, 140pp. Original paper label inside front cover describes the sections of the book. The inscription and signature make this is a rare find for the geography collector.

Contents are fine. Binding is a little rubbed and soiled. Meticulous pencil notations on the "Population of the United States; Census, 1880" page to correct populations to some later date. Browned area on first blank endpaper.
