A superb collection of beautifully rendered steel engraved views. The plates in this example, in combination with the textual account, illustrate the scenery and culture of this Central European region in a charming and romantic style. The handsome frontispiece shows hunters taking aim upon their distant targets while brilliant sunshine pours down onto the alpine valley below. Each plate has its original protective tissue, and though the folding map is listed, it is not present here. Original hardbound in black cloth with half leather spine and tips. Gilt decorative touches and title on spine. All edges gilt (T.E.G.).
