This manuscript study book was produced by Francis Rice Buxton in 1825 as written on back cover. It consists of 48 pages of extremely neat manuscript ink work related to surveying. The level of penmanship and perfection suggest great effort to produce a book for studies. The first four pages are devoted to trigonometry and the majority of the balance is devoted to surveying exercises and solutions. Included are "Field Book" measurements with plotted solutions and numerous other word problems and their solutions. One page is a large Mariner's Compass and the last portion of the book explores sailing exercises and solutions. A truly unique booklet that shows the level of study expected from apprentice surveyors and topographical engineers. The booklet contains 48 complete pages and numerous blank ones hand stitched into paper covers.
