This very scarce and curious miniature double hemispheric map appeared in Johannis Amos Comenius' famous book on education that was first published in 1631. The map is based on 16th century Italian cartography with a land bridge connecting Asia and America and a large south polar continent labeled Magallanica. An imaginary group of islands appear off the northeastern coast of North America.
