A very nice copy of this important work on the Alaska Gold Rush. It was the definitive volume of its day and is still a useful historical reference. Illustrated with maps and photographs. Quarto, 302 pp. + plates & maps. Two maps in pocket at back: 1) "Sketch Map Showing a portion of the Forty Mile Gold Mining District Alaska" 1897 ( 14 x 12.7), separated along one fold 2.4" into map. 2) "Sketch Map Showing Geology and Topography of the Birch Creek Gold Mining District Alaska" (14 x 16.2"), separated along one fold 8.4" into map. Rebound in black leatherette with gilt lettering on spine.
