Lithographed map of Africa depicted as a Woman in Chains. A charming anthropomorphic map of Africa as a white woman with flowing hair, hands held high and chains for a belt. A few regions are identified including Barbary, Nubia, Abyssinia, Adel, Ajan, Guinea, Congo, Zanguebar, Hottentots, Sofala, and Mocarang. Includes the island of Madagascar. The entire continent is labeled Negroland across the woman's face at the center of the continent. A very unusual and scarce issue.
