A fine example of this Ptolemaic map of India and part of Taprobana from Mercator's 1698 edition. Good detail shown throughout the area that extends in the west into Afghanistan, east to the delta of the Ganges, and north to the Himalayan mountains. This handsome map is embellished with a strapwork title cartouche.
