Nice group of views by two of the best illustrators of the mid-nineteenth century, Thomas Allom and Horatio McCulloch. William Beattie was a doctor who commissioned the publication of many books of a topographical nature based on his travels. His work is among the best of the nineteenth century travel books when it was fashionable to have books of views of far away and exotic places.
