A rare and superb panorama of Esfahan. De Bruyn, a Dutch artist, spent several years in the region recording his observations and preparing the illustrations for this important 18th century travelogue. The well-rendered engraving beautifully illustrates the expansive city. The foreground is filled with scenes of military exercises and merchants. Three sheets joined, as issued.

Small area of loss at first joint (in background mountains), apparently as originally published, now filled with light pencil facsimile. Not distracting from the overall visual impact of the large panorama.
