This is a great set of fascinating charts demonstrating various astronomical principles. Each chart is printed on heavy cardstock and hand colored. Three of the five have the unique feature of incorporating cutouts with colored tissue paper insets, for illuminated viewing by holding to a light source. Each chart includes a textual explanation below the diagram. Lot includes: "The Theory of the Seasons and Signs of the Zodiac"; "Transparent Solar System, displaying the planets with their orbits, &c., as known at the present day"; "Transparent Diagram of the Phases of the Moon"; "The Central Sun, and Theory of the Stellar Universe"; "Appearance of the Moon as Seen by the Aid of Lord Rosse's Great Telescope".
