This fascinating image of an Aztec idol surrounded by worshipers provides an interesting view of the European conception of Aztec civilization in the 17th century. The central idol is actually a wonderful combination of myth from both cultures being part goat and part human with face in its belly and dragon-like wings.
Minor toning. Old repair of short tears parallel to fold and paper replaced in bottom blank margin, just barely touching title. Tiny hole on fold, just inside image at bottom.
