Very fine and large copper engraving of a fresco in the Grand-Ducal Villa in Poggio, Florence, by Alessando Allori. The lively scene represents the achievements of great men of Antiquity, related to the history of the House of the Medicis. Allori (1535-1607) was a Florentine Mannerist painter, famed for his complex and crowded compositions which are full of emotional intensity. Minor crease in title, else fine.
