This wall-sized woodblock map of the Omi Province was created by Shigemasa Yamashita. This historic province is centered on Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, which is shown here with several islands and a small ship. The map shows the main roads, towns, villages and the mountainous topography. Included is a chart of various Mon (family crests), which identify the lands that belong to different families and clans. Printed on four sheets of rice paper, joined as issued.
