"Chine, et Indes avec les Isles; d'Apres les Descriptions, les Plus Exactes", Brion de la Tour/Desnos

This lovely map covers the region from Persia to the Philippines, and south to include all of Indonesia. The map includes a decorative title cartouche and is surrounded by an ornate rococo-style frame that was printed from a separate plate. Brion was the former Geographer to the King of France, and Desnos was Geographer to the King of Denmark.

Contemporary color on a sheet with an "R. Montgolfier" watermark. There are a few tiny spots in the image, a short centerfold separation and chip at bottom, and tiny stains along the bottom edge of the sheet. There are minor remnants of paper tape along the bottom edge of the sheet on recto.
