This fascinating pictorial map of Cape Cod is by graphic designer, writer, illustrator, and Cape Cod local Paul Giambarba. It is filled with notes and illustrations related to the area's rich history. There are portraits of dozens of historical figures including John F. Kennedy, Captain John Smith, Samuel de Champlain, Massachusetts governor John Winthrop, Henry David Thoreau, Daniel Webster, and "Mad Jack" Percival. There are several portraits and notes related to the Native Americans of the area, including a portrait of Squanto and a note regarding Maushop, "the most powerful Indian god" whose pipe smoke is said to form the the Nantucket Sound fog. A variety of sailing ships and vessels fill the waters. The map was published by Scrimshaw Publishing. Giambarba is perhaps best known for being the art director behind Polaroid's original branding.
