This decorative double hemisphere map features a prominent Sea of the West (Mer de l'Ouest) and a Northwest Passage in North America. Australia has a conjectural shape that incorporates Tasmania and New Guinea into the mainland. The title and dedication cartouches are tucked between the cusps with the hemispheres supported on the shoulders of giants. The map is flanked by text panels pasted at sides, overall 19 x 11".
