"Map designed to accompany the Journey to Mormon Land", Remy, Jules

This rare map shows the United States nearly in its entirety to illustrate a book devoted the new American Mormon religion. The map is simple, with major cities named, including Fillmore, Salt Lake City and Cedar City in Utah and Nauvoo in Illinois. Remy and Brenchley traveled from San Francisco to Salt Lake City in the summer of 1855, staying in the city for a month and researching the Mormon religion. This map is from the second edition of the book, published in London. Title in French, Carte dressee pour l'intelligence du voyage au Pays des Mormons, de Mr. Jules Remy. The map was drawn by Vuillemin and engraved by Lemaitre.
