Lot of three maps, all with original outline color and uncolored borders and vignettes, as issued. Each map is a steel engraving that is filled with detail including rivers, lakes, towns and villages and many place names along the coasts. Size varies slightly.

1) South America. Surrounded by eight vignettes and a decorative border and title cartouche. Vignettes include gold mining in Brazil, condors and llamas of Peru, natives of Chili, Valparaiso, and a view of Rio de Janeiro.
2) Brazil. With vignettes of boats on the Rio Negro, Monte Video, Cape St. Antonio, Bahia, St. Catharina, and Rio De Janeiro.
3) Falkland Islands and Patagonia. Two maps within one decorative border. The map of the Falklands is very detailed and is surrounded by finely rendered engravings of penguins, sea birds and tall sailing ships anchored off Jason Island. The map of Patagonia has good detail along coastline, but little in the interior. It has a large vignette of Christmas Sound in Tierra del Fuego with clippers under sail plus a small vignette of Fugeans in a boat.
