This fabulous chromolithograph was published in a Supplement to The Graphic, August 18th, 1888. The lithograph was drawn after a painting by the famous artist, Thomas Moran. Moran was the artist on the original Hayden expedition to the Yellowstone, which ultimately resulted in it becoming the first National Park of the United States. Moran painted several huge murals of Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon for the Senate; three are currently hanging in the National Gallery. A stunning and beautifully rendered view.
