A very handsome and detailed small wall map with both rollers attached and original tie intact on top roller. Hand colored by counties with decorative border. Likely the first edition as the copyright date is also 1871. Tables at sides give cities by county with population figures for 1860 and 1870. Printed by Bingham & Dodd, Steam Lith.

Map is very good except for tide mark at upper left and loss to surface at left affecting border in four spots and one table. Should be conserved and rebacked with linen to support areas of loss.
