Terrific copper engraving with 13 different globes, armillary spheres and planetary system theories. Includes the planetary systems of the Egyptians, Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, and Ptolemy, views of the moon and sun plus views that explain the phases of the moon, and eclipses of the moon and the sun. The view of the sun is outrageous with mountains, volcanoes, a sea? and some odd symbols. Finely engraved and beautifully colored.
Crisp, dark impression on thick hand laid paper with good margins. Later, well applied hand color. Image is fine less an area of light stain.
