"Carte de l'Amerique Septentrionale", Bourgoin, P.
Subject: North America
Period: 1780 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
16.7 x 13.2 inches
42.4 x 33.5 cm
Very uncommon map by this little known French cartographer. Depicts the continent and the West Indies with a good amount of detail except in the west, which is mostly blank and labeled Quivira with the coastline ending at N'lle Albion. Rococo-style title cartouche.
Very good impression and original color. Professionally backed on heavy acid-free paper. Some ink spots in left blank margin and unobtrusive manuscript ink in cartouche, still very good.
