Humboldt and botanist Aimé Bonpland traveled for five years from Venezuela to Peru. Upon returning they published the first detailed and magnificently illustrated account of the natural history of South and Central America in a monumental 34-volume series. Includes: Ruellia gigante; Buguinvillaea peruviana; Lycium fuchsioides; Cinchona magnifolia; and Claytonia cubensis. Each on a folio sheet (13 x 20.5") with wide margins.
