With Paris at the center delineated in three soft yet vibrant colors, this is a most desirable map, detailing the environs west to Versailles and east to "Foret de Bondy." The uncolored surrounding engraving includes many symbolic fixtures and objects. Levasseur's maps are among the last "decorative" maps, engraved in the manner of the cartographers of the 17th and 18th centuries.
