This title page is engraved into an architectural façade, with an allegorical scene below the title featuring Cronos, the personification of Time, Atlas holding the world on his shoulders, and female representations of the continents. On either side of the title are windows showing glimpses of the New World.
A dark impression with contemporary color that is faded on a sheet with the watermark of the arms of Amsterdam. There are some old manuscript ink notations and soiling in the blank margins. There are tears and chips along the edges of the sheet, most of which have been repaired, and a few tiny tears in the image that have been closed on verso with archival tape.
