This charming promotional map shows all of North America but highlights the French possessions of St. Pierre and Miquelon, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. It also extends to northern South America to show forced labor on the penal colony of French Guiana. Illustrations of various ships and vessels appear in the water. The inland detail is minimal; in the United States, for instance, detail is confined to a few major rivers, the Great Lakes, the Great Salt Lake, a few mountain ranges, and some notable cities. A decorative compass rose adorns the bottom left corner. On verso are B&W photographic images and French text describing the region.

This map was part of a series of 8 pictorial maps of French possessions around the world, published by the pharmaceutical company Vichy Laboratories to promote their products "Neutroses-Vichy" and "Vegerenyl," which are advertised on verso. Neutroses-Vichy was an antacid created to treat upset stomach, and Vegerenyl was purported to treat ailments affecting the kidney and bladder; however the Vegerenyl ad on verso is partially obscured by an ink stamp indicating that production of the product had been suspended. Printed by Petit Jean.
