This is the German edition of the Tanner/Mitchell map of Michigan from the New Universal Atlas, with a German title but English place names. County development is current circa 1831 with no development in the northern portion of the state. Railroads are shown only in the extreme southern portion of the state. It includes an inset of the western tip of the Upper Peninsula. The table to the right gives the cities and distances along the steamboat routes from Detroit to Fort Gratiot and then continuing to Fort Howard.
