This handsome map focuses on the area of present-day North-Rhine Westphalia. Several towns and cities are named, including Munster, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, and Cologne. There is excellent detail of the Rhine and Meuse rivers, as well as several smaller rivers. A cartouche at top right includes two distance scales and a key that identifies major and smaller cities, villages, castles, colleges, and more. At bottom left there is an elaborate decorative title cartouche featuring coats of arms and allegorical figures such as a river god and the goddess of the hunt.
