An attractive copper engraving covering the region from the Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf east to Japan and the East Indies. It prominently depicts the Chiamai Lacus with five rivers flowing to its south, as well as another large, fictitious lake in the interior of China. The Caspian Sea is truncated and appears rectangular, while many of the islands in the East Indies are overstated. A portion of Nova Hollandia is depicted at bottom right. Adorned by a decorative title cartouche featuring merchants, an elephant, and a pagoda.
