This exquisite title page features an arch with a top portico on pillars. The title to the sixth volume of Blaeu's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, focused on China, is on the door to an open portal, inviting the reader to enter into the exotic landscape. In the foreground, putti hold a copy of Martini's map of China and make measurements on a globe within the continent of Asia. This is the second state, with an additional dedication below the alternate title.

A nice impression with marginal soiling. The title at top is on a separate sheet pasted to the engraving, as was common practice at the time.
