Boldly engraved chart of the polar region to 50° N. that shows the latest discoveries, routes of numerous explorers and attempts to find a Northwest Passage though North America. Large blank area between the Str. of Anian and Lake des Sioux is marked "Parts Unknown." Two insets of Nova Zembla and Waygats plus another view of the Northern Hemisphere with the northern part of the island of California and the purported Northwest Passage. Embellished with a compass rose.
