Magnificent map of the continent copied from Hondius' influential map with nearly identical ornamentation as the Hondius/Jansson issues. The geography is typical for the 17th century and filled with spurious rivers, mountains and kingdoms. The map is embellished with a variety of exotic animals, ships, sea monsters and Neptune with his consort.

Fine later color. Professional repair of tear just entering border left of bottom centerfold. Close, but adequate, margin at top, as issued.
