Superb sea chart of Edinburgh Firth, depicting the city of Edinburg, Dumsermling, and inset of Haymouth, and numerous coastal towns. Finely decorated with a dedication cartouche "To The Right Hon.ble James Earle of Perth Lord Chanceller of the Kingdom of Scotland" featuring mermaids, banners and weapons. In 1681 Captain Greenville Collins was commissioned by the Admiralty to survey the sea coast of Great Britain. His charts were the most detail maps of the period and greatly improved the previous work of John Seller.
