Five printed leaves: (1) From Foxe's Actes and Monuments of Martyr's, printed at London by John Day in 1576. Known popularly as "Book of Martyrs", this anti-Catholic diatribe became the first best seller in the English language, during the intense religious conflict of the Elizabethan period. (2) From Stephen Batman's "The Doome, Warning to the Judgement", printed in 1581 at London by John Day. (3) From "John Stow's Annales, or a Generale Chronicle of England", printed at London by John Barker in 1592. (4) From "The Holie Bible" (Geneva translation - English Puritans), printed by Barker in London in 1599. (5) From Consiliorum D. Guidonis Papae Doctoris.., printed in Frankfort Germany, by George Corvinus in 1574. All interesting examples of 16th century printing.
