This boldly engraved German map of the Persian Empire includes the region between the Black and Caspian seas, part of Iraq, and a bit of the Arabian peninsula. The large (uncolored) title cartouche features a Persian queen with her attendants, a soldier, and allegorical figures, including one representing Justice. Above the scale of miles is a finely engraved vignette depicting pearl harvesting.

A sharp impression with full contemporary color, a short centerfold separation in the lower margin, and a bit of marginal soiling.
