This superb bird's-eye plan of Rome by Joan Baptist Falda gives great detail of the roads with major buildings drawn in a three-dimensional perspective. An extensive numbered index flanks the plan with a listing of nearly 500 locations on the map. The map is surrounded by allegorical vignettes with religious figures, a Roman soldier, and antiquities. There is an alternate Latin title at top: Novissima et Accuratissima Romae Veteris et Novae Tabula. Engraved by Jan Goeree and Jan van Vianen.
