This pictorial map of Kodiak Island is focused primarily on wildlife, with a menacing bear and its raised claw at center. Other wildlife illustrations include wolves, fox, caribou, martens, beaver, bald eagle, and more. The town of Kodiak is located on the northeast corner of the island (lower right) with numerous canneries and herring plants scattered across the island. Text notes that the first white settlement occurred in 1784. Flanked by decorative totem poles at left and right. The verso features a small map of Alaska and historical information related to the island. Published by Lowell Jones. Self-folding into pictorial wrappers.
