This fine decorative map of Durham shows cities, fortifications, hills, forests, parks, villages, castles, and more. The map is beautifully ornamented with the royal arms, ships, and a compass rose. The title cartouche at top right is flanked by two rustic men with shovels. Two putti and the Durham coat of arms decorate the distance scale cartouche at bottom right. Latin text on verso, published between 1646-59.
