This lot features a map of the southwestern United States showing the Texas & Pacific Railway lines extending from Texarkana, Shreveport, and New Orleans west to Dallas/Fort Wort, El Paso, and Los Angeles. It features illustrations highlighting attractions along the routes, and the verso contains massive Texas-type steam locomotives in use from 1925 to 1952. The map is accompanied by a 1957 letter from a Texas & Pacific Railway executive and a two-page typed article giving the history of the distinctive "Iron Horse" locomotive.
