A. "In and Out" Map of Miami Miami Beach Coral Gables & Vicinity, by R.C. Traster & Sons, dated 1939, printed color (26.5 x 15.1"). This brochure folds out to a large bird's-eye view of Miami and Miami Beach with numerous buildings and landmarks illustrated and identified. Includes a small inset showing "Distances to Miami." The map is surrounded by local advertisements and the verso has an extensive index of apartments, hotels, dining, and more. Self-folding with pictorial wrappers (3.5 x 9.0"). Condition: Issued folding with numerous ink and pencil notations in the image. There are several short fold separations and a longer 7" separation that has been closed on verso with archival tape. (B)

B. Visitor's Map of Downtown Miami [on sheet with] Visitor's Map of Miami Beach from Government Cut to Forty-Fourth Street, by Norman Garbush, circa 1940, black & white (24.8 x 16.5"). Two maps on one sheet showing the detailed street grid pattern of downtown Miami and Miami Beach including individual businesses. Each map has an index locating hotels, buildings, churches, arcades, and more. The verso contains a map of Greater Miami and three photographic illustrations. Norman Garbush is best known for his series of “Norman’s” maps of New York City. The circa date was inferred from the airlines shown serving Miami in the index and the presence of the Grossinger Hotel (completed in 1940), but not listing the hotels completed in 1941 (e.g. Sovereign and Avalon). Folds into a self-mailer, but is also laid into a printed wrapper with title "Map of Greater Miami" (4.3 x 8.8"). Condition: Issued folding with a few spots of foxing and a couple of short splits at the fold junctions. (B+)
