This charming engraving shows a grand ball in the Academy of Music in New York City, an opera house that had opened in 1854. The ball was given in honor of a visit from Prince Albert Edward, then the Prince of Wales. Published in the 24 November 1860 edition of The Illustrated London News. English text on verso.
