This is a boldly engraved chart of the bay at Salvador (Bahia) with an inset plan of the fortified city of San Salvador. Navigational soundings and shoals are identified in the bay. Numerous plantations and sugar mills are noted with symbols along the coast and rivers. There is a large decorative rococo-style title cartouche and two compass roses.
