This is the northern sheet of Delisle's important two-sheet map of the Russian Empire. The map is centered on Moscow and provides great detail of the towns, roads, forests and topography. The map is decorated with a nice title cartouche featuring a sleigh, coat of arms, animals and a hunter.

A nice impression on watermarked paper with contemporary outline color, minor soiling, and toning confined to the edges of the sheet. There are a few short edge tears and centerfold separations at top and bottom that have been archivally repaired. Small remnants of hinge tape on verso.
