This is a superb map of Italy by one of the most prominent French cartographers of the eighteenth century. It is densely engraved with political divisions, place names, and topographical detail. Corsica and Sardinia are depicted in fine detail, and the map extends as far south as Malta. The map features eleven distance scales at bottom left. There is a large allegorical title cartouche in the top right corner that was drawn by Coypet and engraved by Aveline. The map itself was engraved by P. Bourgoin. On 2 sheets, joined.
