This unusual double-hemisphere world map is "going to the dogs," and presents to the reader the various dog breeds by country of origin. Non-European breeds are drawn directly on the map and feature a Boston Terrier in the United States, a hairless dog in Mexico, and a Dingo off of the coast of Australia (among many others). The numerous European breeds are depicted outside of the map image, with the greatest number of breeds coming from England, France, and Germany. A note in Antarctica states that 290 breeds have been identified on the map, including 140 in silhouette. Based on the work of Bylandt, Pierre & Paul Megnin, and others, and published by Revue Cynegetique Canine.
Issued folding on a bright sheet with one short edge tear confined to the left blank margin that has been closed on verso with archival tape.
