"[Lot of 31 - U.S.D.A. Soil Maps]", U.S.D.A.

Housed in a brown cloth case with original string ties and gilt tilting, this complete set contains 31 large folding maps from the 3rd Report of the Field Operations of the Bureau of Soils, under the direction of Milton Whitney. Each of the maps has a legend identifying the various soil profiles which are overlaid on base maps provided by the Geological Survey. In addition to the soil types, the maps depict roads, railroads, cities and towns, county boundaries and topography via contour lines. Of particular interest are Cobb County (near Atlanta), GA., Boise, ID., and Ventura, CA. The full list of maps include:

The maps are very good to near fine with attractive, bright coloring. There is occasional light toning and/or color offsetting. The cloth case has only minimal shelf wear.
