"La Suede", Robert de Vaugondy, Didier

This map of Sweden extends to include Finland as well. There is good detail of towns, political boundaries, rivers, and topography. Parts of Norway, Empire de Russie, and Poland appear as mostly unengraved areas. Includes a decorative title cartouche in the lower right corner. The map was engraved by E. Dussy and the cartouche by Arrivet. This is the first state.

Condition: A

A crisp impression with original color in the map and later color in the cartouche on paper with a Strasbourg Lily watermark. There are two worm holes confined to the far blank margins, one small spot of foxing in the image at top left, and a short tear in the bottom blank margin.
