This large, incredibly detailed map of Britain is sectioned into 81 sheets and bound in "atlas" form. It covers all of England, Wales, and the southern portion of Scotland and depicts roads, towns and cities, rivers, canals and topography. Also includes a comprehensive 85-page "List of Places," a list of subscribers, and an index map. Complete. Blank sheets 62 and 80 not present, as issued, for a total of 80 map sheets. Hardbound in original leather boards with gilt tooling; and new suede spine with silver tooling and title; marbled end papers.

Condition: B+

A clean and bright example with original color, light offsetting, and an occasional spot of foxing. Bookplates from two previous owners appear on the front pastedown and front free end-paper. New hinges have been added, and covers show moderate wear and scuffing.
