"The Description of the Countreys and Places Mencioned in the Actes of the Apostles from Italie on the West Part, Unto the Medes and Persians Towards the East..."
This charming woodblock map depicts the eastern Mediterranean from Sicily and Italy to the Middle East, extending to include parts of the Black Sea and the Persian Gulf. The geography is very rudimentary; Italy does not exhibit its boot shape, Greece is elongated toward the south, and Turkey is truncated. The geography is limited to a few key cities, mountains and rivers. The map is embellished with several ships and sea monsters. Below the map is a list of the countries and islands represented in the map, as well as a list of the longitudes and latitudes of key cities. By C. Barker.
